Describe your style
Obviously we hope that our work speaks for itself, but we would describe our approach as relaxed and natural; capturing moments as they unfold. If you watch our films, I hope you will see that every wedding is completely unique to the two people getting married. We don't impose a style on all of our weddings. Some are fast-paced with hundreds of guests rocking it on the dancefloor, while others are just two people getting married on top of a mountain. It's so important to us that your film embodies who you are as people, and what the day was about...an honest reflection of the best and most memorable moments that you will watch over and over again for many years to come.
Do we pick the music ourselves?
The music is such a massive part of how we tell your story and we often spend as much time finding the right tracks as we do editing your film. We want to choose something that is unique to the both of you, and that communicates the story of your day.
All of our music is licensed as we feel it’s very important to support the wider creative community, but we’d love to have a chat with you about the sort of stuff you listen to.
Where are you based?
We are based in the North of Ireland, but love to travel – nationally and internationally.
How does it work if we book you for an international wedding?
I usually arrive one to two days before the wedding - this is a great opportunity to meet in person (if we haven’t already) and to scout out the location for the event ahead.
How long do our films take after the wedding?
We know how eager you are to see everything we’ve captured, so we aim to have films completed between 12-16 weeks after your wedding. The editing process takes time to perfect and because each film is hand-crafted to tell your unique story we really don’t like to rush this part.
How will we receive your film?
You’ll receive your film and highlights on Vimeo.com first, where you can share it with friends and family and post online (similar to the ones you’ve seen on our site and Facebook page). A few weeks after that you’ll also get these on a USB drive in one of our Story of Eve branded boxes (depending on the package you have chosen).
What equipment do you use?
We are constantly updating and upgrading equipment. At the moment, we use two Sony A7S IIs, a wide range of Canon and Sony lenses, a DJI Inspire 1 drone, Ronin M Handheld Stabliser, Edelkrone Slider Plus and lots of different tripods and monopods. We use VideoMic Pros on our cameras, combined with a number of Tascams and Lapel Mics for attaching to the groom during key moments of the day.
Do you have a background in film-making?
Michael has a First Class Honours in Interactive Multimedia and studied Media for three years prior to his degree – during this time he worked in both digital and analogue techniques and studied hard to perfect his lighting, editing and story-telling skills. Before entering the wedding world, Michael worked as a graphic designer for 10 years and has been a lecturer in design, video and multimedia for nine years.
How can we keep in touch with you?
We generally keep in touch via email, but hopefully we’ll also get the opportunity to catch up over a coffee as well (we’re buying)! If logistics don’t allow for this, then we can chat over the phone and Skype and you’ll also have our mobile numbers so feel free to text with any questions or queries after you’ve booked.
How do we go about booking?
Once you’ve made the decision to book us (yay!), we’ll send through the contract with all the details. Then from there, you just need to forward the deposit, choose your package, email back the contract and we’re all set to go!
